Found out the first 'Ask Anything' forum was on a platform called Delphi in 1990

I was reading an old tech article and it said the concept started over 30 years ago. It's weird to think people were doing this before most of us even had email. What's the oldest online community you've come across?

The old Usenet groups feel ancient now.

I read an article that said there were over 100,000 Usenet newsgroups at its peak. It's wild how much of that early web culture, like @betty_wells said, just vanished into archives. The whole structure of threaded conversations feels totally different from how we post now. Do you miss that old style of discussion?

Didn't the web itself start as a community for researchers?
