Rant: stopped flushing my chainsaw bar oil holes with brake cleaner and started using a bent paperclip, cut cleanup from 20 min to 5 | Arborists - Thought Shares
Been running brake cleaner through mine for years and never once thought about the time I was wasting standing there spraying and wiping. How bent are we talking here, like a little hook at the end or more of a U shape? Does the paperclip actually pull the gunk out or does it just poke a hole through it so the oil can flow again? And do you still hit it with anything after to rinse the loosened crud out, or does the fresh oil just flush it on its own? Asking because my bar has that tiny little channel and I always worry about scratching it up with metal.
