Why does nobody talk about checking the door gasket with a dollar bill
I tested a fridge gasket with a dollar bill last Tuesday and felt resistance at the bottom but not the top, and after swapping the gasket the compressor run time went from 18 hours a day down to about 9, so has anyone else seen that kind of drop just from one seal fix?
Man, a dollar bill doing the job of a hundred dollar repair tech, that's the real hustle. Half the compressor run time is a huge drop, and yeah, that checks out when you think about it. A bad top seal is basically an open window for cold air, so the fridge just runs itself to death trying to keep up. People are out here buying new fridges when all they needed was a five minute test and a twenty dollar gasket.
