I always figured the cynics were just lazy and looking for an excuse, but after seeing that with my own eyes I can't really argue with them anymore, so what do you all actually do with your plastic now that the blue bin might be theater?
Man, this is the same story everywhere. I watched my apartment complex put out three separate bins for trash, recycling, and yard waste, then a single truck pulls up and dumps all three into the same compactor. Same thing at my office, they posted signs about composting and the "green team" sent monthly emails, then I found out the cleaning crew just bags it all together at night. It's like every system we're told to trust is really just a front, banks, food labels, all of it. So now I just toss plastic in the regular bin and stopped feeling bad about it. The whole thing was never on us to fix.
