TIL watching shows at 1.5x speed with subtitles fixed my backlog problem

I had 23 unfinished shows sitting in my queue since January and it was stressing me out every time I opened the app. Last month I started bumping the playback to 1.5x and reading subs instead of waiting for dubs, and I got through 6 full seasons in about 3 weeks. The weird part is I actually catch MORE plot details now because I'm not zoning out during slow parts. The action scenes do feel a little choppy at that speed though, so I drop back to normal for big fights. Does anyone else mess with playback speed or is that considered anime heresy around here?
