TIL the guy who voiced Vegeta in English also did the voice for a bunch of my favorite 90s cartoon villains
So I was poking around on a voice actor wiki last week after my buddy and I got into a argument about who had the best scream in anime, and I went down this huge rabbit hole. I pulled up Christopher Sabat's page just to settle the Vegeta versus Piccolo thing for myself, and I kept scrolling and seeing all these other shows he was in. Turns out he was in like 200 plus roles, which blew my mind because I always just knew him as the angry Saiyan prince. But then I saw he did a bunch of random side characters in stuff I watched as a kid on Saturday mornings, and it kind of broke my brain a little. I actually went back and rewatched one episode of Dragon Ball Z on my phone during lunch at work and once I knew it was the same guy doing Yamcha and Piccolo and Vegeta in the same scene, I couldn't unhear it. Now I catch myself trying to pick out his voice in everything and my wife thinks I've lost it. Has anyone else gone down a voice actor rabbit hole like this and ruined a show for themselves, and which one was it for you?
Plenty of us are in that boat, sure, but maybe the wife has a point. Look at what we actually do: check the tank temp three times before bed, argue about filter flow rates like it's politics, and drop real money on a fish that might not make it through the week. That sounds a little off to anyone watching from the couch. Normal people don't test their tap water for fun on a Saturday morning.
