That friend who told me to skip the manga and watch the anime first was totally right

My buddy Mike kept saying the 2019 version flows better start to finish, so I finally gave in after 3 episodes of the old series. Now I get why he said reading after watching hits different, the pacing actually makes sense. Anybody else have a friend whose anime advice you ignored for way too long?
