I finally get why my buddy in Austin said subs are not always better after we argued about a fight scene for 40 minutes

Last week my friend Marcus told me he watches dubs during boss fights so he can watch the animation instead of reading, and I laughed at him until I rewatched a big fight in sub and missed half the choreography because my eyes were glued to the bottom of the screen. So now I keep two versions going depending on the show, subs for talky stuff and dubs for action heavy eps. Does anyone else switch depending on the scene or do you just pick one and stick with it?
