Dub vs sub I finally switched after 12 years of one anime

I watched every series dubbed since high school, about 200 shows, until a friend said 'you are missing the original voice acting' during a Cowboy Bebop rewatch last Saturday. I tried one episode subbed and suddenly characters like Faye and Spike hit way harder, the jokes landed better too. Has anyone else made that flip late and felt kind of dumb about it, or do you stick with one format for a reason?
