Dub vs Sub debate - was a hardcore sub fan until I heard the FMA Brotherhood dub
I used to think dubs were just lazy and missed all the emotion. Then I watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood with the English cast around episode 15 and Vic Mignogna's performance as Ed really changed my mind. The lip flaps actually matched and the voice actors put in REAL effort. So which side do yall fall on now - is the old debate still valid or have dubs actually gotten legit good?

Respectfully disagree, I still find subs capture the original emotion better and dubs distract from the animation.

What is it about dubs that makes you feel like the emotion gets lost? I swear, every time I try to watch a dub, I end up focusing so hard on whether the lip flaps match that I miss half the plot. @karenh56, I totally get where you're coming from, because subs let you hear the original voice actors pouring their souls into it. But honestly, my own attention span is SO bad that I'll blink and miss three subtitle lines, then spend the next ten minutes lost. I guess I'm just not cut out for the high-speed reading life, so dubs are my only hope even if they're not as perfect.

Sub fan for years until I gave the Cowboy Bebop dub a real shot and it totally flipped my opinion. Sometimes you just gotta find the right one where the actors actually give a damn about the characters.
