Unpopular opinion: the algorithm knows my grocery list better than my own husband does

My sister called me last Tuesday and said her phone started showing her ads for baby stuff 3 weeks before she even told anyone she was pregnant. I laughed it off until I checked my own feed and saw it was pushing bulk oatmeal and joint cream at me, stuff I'd only mentioned out loud once in my kitchen. The scary part is she didn't search for any of it, the app just heard her talking and decided what she needed. I deleted both apps that night but I still catch myself wondering what else it picked up that I never said. Has anyone else had an app guess something about you that you never typed anywhere?
