The coffee shop in Portland tracked my order before I said a word
I walked into a small cafe on SE Belmont last Tuesday and the barista already had my usual on the counter, guessed from my phone's location history synced with their loyalty app. She smiled and said 'same as always?' before I even opened my mouth, and I felt a weird chill because I never told them I was coming. How do we even know when a convenience becomes a surveillance we didn't sign up for?
