Rant: the Walmart self checkout cameras made me trust the receipt checker less, not more
My local store in Akron put in those AI camera carts that track every item you pick up, and I watched it flag a lady for a $3 bag of grapes she actually paid for. The old system was just a person at the door asking to see your slip, and yeah it was slower but it never accused anyone of stealing. Last Tuesday I got pulled aside over a $2.49 can of beans the camera thought I skipped, and it took 10 minutes to sort out. If the machine can be that wrong, why should I trust it watching everything I buy? Anyone else had one of these things get it flat wrong on a cheap item?
