Why does nobody talk about using zip ties on old panel boxes?

I was swapping out a dying panel in a house over in Tacoma last month and the screw holes were stripped from the last guy. I had nothing else on the truck, so I ran a zip tie through the hole and around the mounting bolt, tightened it down. It held perfect through the whole install, even when I bumped the box pulling wires. Has anyone else used this hack on older enclosures, or do you just drill new holes?
