Calibrating motion sensors in a busy office took forever
I mean, the sensors kept going off from sunlight hitting them at certain times. I had to come back over three days to tweak the settings during different hours. It was a pain, but now I know to check the light patterns before locking in the placement. Saved me a callback on the next job like that.

Vents causing false alarms? That's a new one for me.

I used to think sensor calibration was just a quick setup thing, no big deal. But I had a client once where the vents from the HVAC system kept setting off the detectors every hour. Took me two trips to figure out the air flow was the culprit, not actual movement. Now I always map out the whole environment before even turning the tools on. Your point about light patterns is spot on, and it made me realize how many variables we ignore. That kind of hassle is exactly why I don't cut corners on the initial check anymore. Sunlight and air currents are weirdly good at fooling tech.

Check the light at different times before you mount anything. Tbh, it saves so much headache later on.

Reminds me of a streetlight job where the timer was set wrong... it would come on at noon on cloudy days. Took weeks to notice the pattern.
