Rant: The new composite repair standards are killing us old school guys

I've been doing metal work for 12 years and now every job that used to be a simple patch is going to a composite specialist. How are you guys handling the transition without losing your minds?

You just gonna ignore how much composite cuts weight?

Oh boy, here we go again. Metal patches aren't really "simple" either, you know. They take just as much prep work and skill, it's just different kinds of problems.

Betty Wells over there acting like a rivet gun is a complex scientific instrument. I've seen composite jobs take three times longer to cure than my whole metal patch shift. Guess I'll just start calling my old school metal work "vintage composite.
