Why does nobody talk about the AI sandbox setup at that gaming expo?

I went to the big gaming convention downtown last month, mostly for the retro arcade section. But I stumbled on this booth where they had an AI tool running live, generating game levels on the spot. I watched it create a dungeon layout in like 40 seconds that would have taken me three days to map out by hand. The weird part was watching the crowd, nobody was asking about the tech, they just wanted to see it fail or glitch. I ended up staying there for 2 hours and even got to try it with a custom boss fight prompt. The thing nailed the pacing and even added a hidden loot room I didn't ask for. Have any of you run into these event demos that actually change how you build, or are they mostly just hype machines?

Oh wow, that sounds like a genuinely useful tool, not just a flashy demo. Most of these convention setups are all smoke and mirrors, so it is refreshing to hear one actually delivered something practical. The hidden loot room detail is what gets me, though. Did you ask if that was a fluke or if the system was built to add surprises like that on purpose? I have seen so many generators that just spit out the same three layouts with different colors, so hearing it actually understood pacing feels almost too good to be true. Were you able to keep any of the output or take notes on how it structured the fight encounter? That kind of insight could be worth more than the whole expo ticket.

Haha that's the exact question I should've asked! I was too busy grabbing a screenshot of the map layout before the next demo started. The pacing thing is wild though, if its actually figuring out when to place a secret room after a big fight, thats way smarter than most stuff at these shows.
