Tried an AI voice clone for my voicemail, now my mom can't tell the difference

I set up a cloned version of my voice using a free trial last Tuesday just to screen calls better. My mom called back within an hour and left a message asking why I sounded so formal. It got me thinking, how much personality should we give these AI avatars before it stops feeling genuine?

i mean honestly who cares if your mom cant tell the difference? voicemail is literally just a recording saying hey leave a message. if anything it makes it easier for her cause she gets to hear your voice even when you dont pick up. people are way overthinking this whole ai avatar personality thing. its a tool, not a replacement for you. you set it up to screen calls, that worked, so whats the actual problem here? like are we really gonna sit here and debate whether a robot answering machine is "genuine" now? thats a huge waste of energy. if your mom left a message, she got what she needed, end of story.
