After paying $20 a month for 8 months for a popular AI writing tool, I set up a small local model on a used mini PC I got off a guy in Phoenix, and yeah it is slower and dumber sometimes, but my client contracts never leave my house, so am I crazy for thinking the privacy tradeoff beats convenience?
