Hot take: The AI that writes my code now is way better than the one I tried in college.

Three years ago in a computer lab, a tool would just give me broken blocks of text. Last month, I used a new system to build a simple app for my friend's small business in Seattle, and it fixed my own mistakes. Has anyone else tried coding with the latest models and been surprised?

Seriously, same here. I tried to make a budget tracker last year and the old tools just gave me useless junk code. The new one actually understood when I told it my math was wrong. It caught a logic error I'd been staring at for an hour. The difference isn't just small fixes, it's like having a decent pair programmer now.

Right? My old one would have just doubled down on the wrong math.

Yeah, my buddy was trying to set up a basic inventory system for his garage and the old tools he tried were a total mess. He said the new one he used last week actually walked him through connecting the database, which he'd never done before. It was like the AI could see the whole picture of what he was trying to build, not just spit out random lines. He got the thing running in a weekend, which just wasn't possible a couple years back.
