My grandpa said to grease the PTO shaft every 8 hours, not 50, and he was right
I ran my rotary cutter for 3 seasons greasing it once a month like the manual says, and the u-joint finally started knocking last June. Grandpa took one look and said the manual is written for warranty, not for work, so now I hit every zerk on that shaft after an 8 hour day. The knocking quit after the third greasing and it has been smooth for 40 acres now. Anyone else ignore the manual intervals on their implements?
