Last Thursday was the worst adulting day I've had in years.
Woke up to a $600 emergency vet bill for my cat who ate a hair tie, then got a flat tire on the way to work. Has anyone else had a day where everything just piles on at once?

Dude, that is a ROUGH day! I just read something about how cats eating non-food items is actually called "pica" and some cats do it when they're stressed or bored. Still doesn't make the vet bill hurt any less though. Hope your cat is okay and the tire was fixable.

Man, I feel you. That stinks. My cat ate a shoelace once, cost me 400 bucks.

Four hundred bucks for a shoelace is wild. My dog ate a whole sock once and the surgery was like 800. Animals really know how to hit you in the wallet.
