Quit my finance job to run a food cart, made $12 in one whirlwind day

Last month I walked away from a 6 figure desk job to sell breakfast burritos from a cart I bought off Craigslist for $800. My first Saturday setup took 2 hours because I forgot the propane tank adapter and had to borrow one from a taco truck guy two blocks over. By noon I had sold exactly 5 burritos and spilled an entire batch of green chile down my only clean apron. Then a wedding party rolled up at 1 PM, ordered 40 burritos on the spot, and I ran out of eggs before I could say 'cash only'. The bride paid me in crumpled twenties and a handshake, and I felt more alive than in any quarterly meeting I ever sat through. I still don't know if this was a brilliant pivot or a midlife crisis with a spatula, but I closed down with $12 profit after paying for the propane. Has anyone else traded a boring paycheck for a noisy, greasy gamble like this and actually made it stick past the first season?
