The day I deleted 400 songs from my playlist and felt lighter
I kept this massive Spotify playlist titled "Road Trip Favorites" from my college days, even though I hadn't listened to half of it in 6 years. Last Tuesday I was driving through Austin and a song came on that reminded me of my ex, and I realized I was only keeping the playlist out of habit, not because I liked the music anymore. I spent an hour going through it and deleted every track that didn't give me that little jolt of excitement, which turned out to be over 400 songs. It felt oddly like cleaning out a closet, but for my brain. Has anyone else found that digital clutter holds more emotional weight than physical stuff, and what did you finally purge?
Why do you think we hang onto digital stuff way longer than the physical kind? A packed closet forces you to deal with it every day, but a playlist just sits there quietly until one random song sucker punches you on the highway.
