Finally got the hang of feathering out that self-leveler after a couple of really bad pours last month

That first bad pour I did, I swear it looked like a topographic map of the Rockies. The key for me was mixing it a little thinner than the bag says and working way faster than I thought I needed to. You have to keep the edge wet and just let it do its thing, no overworking with the trowel. It's all about trusting the product and getting your timing down. Once you stop fighting it, the finish just lays itself out flat.

Seriously, it's just floor goop. People act like it's some kind of art form. You slap it down and smooth it out, that's it.

Oh please, if it was that easy we wouldn't have so many botched DIY jobs. That "slap it down" method is how you get a permanent lumpy mess.
