Had a wild week where my dividend stocks paid out way more than expected

I have about $12,000 in a mix of utility and REIT stocks, and last Tuesday three of them paid dividends on the same day for a total of $187. That extra cash let me pay off my credit card balance that was nagging me for months. Has anyone else had a random week where your passive income just lined up perfectly like that?

Man, $187 from three dividends hitting the same day... that's like winning the ugly stepchild of the lottery. I had a similar thing happen with my REITs last month, got $93.42 and I almost bought a fancy coffee out of spite. But then I remembered I had a parking ticket from three years ago that was somehow still hanging around, so that went straight to the city's pockets instead. Pure magic how that works, right?

My neighbor once got $14.67 from a random dividend and immediately spent it on a lottery ticket, which of course won nothing. That parking ticket story hits close to home because I found out last week the city still had a warrant out for a library book I lost in 2011. It's funny how money always finds its way to the most boring places first, right?

Honestly, I had almost the exact same thing happen back in March when my utility stock and two ETFs all paid on the same Friday for $211. It felt like the universe just handed me a free pass to knock out my car insurance payment without even thinking about it. Ngl, that timing was so perfect I almost didn't believe my bank app was real.
