I was stuck on a puzzle for my kid and the answer was in my coffee mug

My 7-year-old had this 100-piece puzzle of a zoo scene, and we were missing the last giraffe piece. I looked everywhere for three days, even under the couch. Then I saw my own coffee mug on the table, the one with the giraffe print, and realized the missing piece was the exact same color as the mug's handle. I found it stuck to the bottom of the mug. Has anyone else solved a problem by just looking at something you see every day?

Oh man, that's the best... it's always right in front of you. I lost my car keys for an hour once, only to realize I was holding them the whole time while I used the flashlight on my phone to look.

Classic @matthewdixon, I once spent twenty minutes looking for my glasses while I was wearing them.

Hold on, you were using your phone's light to look for the keys you were holding? That's next level brain fog, man. My mind would have completely short circuited after that. The sheer commitment to the search while the answer is literally in your hand is amazing. You must have felt like a total genius when you finally noticed.
