A client in my chair last month said her skin felt 'calm for the first time in years' after I switched to a gentler cleanser for her rosacea.

She told me she'd been avoiding facials for over a decade because every other esthetician just made her face burn and flare, which really made me rethink my whole approach to sensitive skin protocols.

That's great for her, but sometimes a deeper clean is actually what reactive skin needs to reset.

What does that "reset" actually look like, @taylor.reese?

Hold up, a deeper clean on reactive skin sounds like a recipe for more redness. That "reset" often just means more irritation.

My cousin tried that whole skin reset thing once and ended up looking like a tomato for a week. @olivia_moore you're probably right that it just stirs up more trouble for reactive types. She spent a ton on fancy serums to calm it down after, so the deep clean just made more work in the end.
