How a simple chat with a janitor improved my troubleshooting approach

I was fixing a finicky floor leveling issue in an old office building last week. The janitor, an older fellow named Carl, was sweeping nearby and started asking questions about how the elevator works. He pointed out that the problem seems worse on Mondays, after the weekend when the building is empty. It made me think about temperature changes and how they affect the hydraulic system when it's not in use. I realized I'd been overlooking the pattern because I only saw the elevator during busy hours. Now, I make a point to ask building staff about timing and usage habits before diving into repairs. That quick talk with Carl saved me a lot of guesswork and helped me fix the issue faster. It's a small thing, but listening to the people who are around the equipment every day can give you real insights.

Carl's the best. Learned a ton from his posts last year.

Maybe it's just me, but calling someone 'the real experts' feels like a stretch for forum posts. Sometimes people online make big claims that don't hold up. Seen a few of Carl's posts that were just okay, nothing life-changing. Not saying he's bad, but let's not make it a bigger deal than it is.
