Noticing more drone use for dredge prep work in my county.

The new drone survey data is very detailed, but it doesn't match our old planning methods, how are you all handling this?

What if the drone data is just wrong?

That's a solid point from Riley. We've seen drones get thrown off by weird weather or even just a dirty lens messing with the images. If @angela587 is spotting new issues, we gotta check if the drone was calibrated right that day, or if we're comparing its data to last year's hand drawn maps. A quick ground truth check on one or two problem spots would clear this up fast.

Check the flight logs for that day. Did the pilot note any wind gusts or sudden temp changes that could have knocked the sensors off? Also, pull the raw images before the software processed them. Sometimes the stitching algorithm creates fake edges or marks that look like real damage. A dirty lens is a great call, but what about condensation inside the camera housing? That would blur everything.

Does it show new compliance issues we missed?
