Switched from manual dimensioning to a proper style sheet and it cut my drawing time in half
I was working on a set of commercial kitchen plans for a restaurant in Portland. My old way was clicking each dimension line and typing the text. I set up a full style sheet with saved layers and text styles last month. The first full drawing set after that took me 4 hours instead of 8. It sounds basic, but having everything uniform from the start is a game changer. Does anyone have a favorite style sheet template they use for MEP work?

Wait, you were manually typing every single dimension before? That's insane.

Right? "Insane" is the perfect word for it. I did that for like a year before I figured out you could just copy and paste the pattern. Felt like such an idiot.

What kind of work were you doing that needed so many patterns typed out? I can't even imagine the time wasted. Did you ever go back and check your old stuff for typos? Bet there were a few. That's the kind of mistake you only make once, but man it stings.
