Old-school drafter told me my layers were a mess and I should start fresh
I had this project where I just kept adding layers on top of old ones for months, and a senior guy saw my file and said I really needed to clean house. He showed me his system with just 8 main layers and a clear naming rule, and it cut my revision time in half. Has anyone else had to completely redo their layer setup after getting feedback like that?

Bet you weren't using your own custom layer key until then.

Used to think custom layers were just showoff stuff, but seeing how much more efficient even a basic one makes things really changed my mind. Started with just a single layer for navigation keys and now I'm hooked on having shortcuts for EVERYTHING. Makes you wonder why I put up with stock layouts for so long.

Actually my first custom layer key was on a weird ortho board with like 30 keys total. I mapped the whole bottom row to arrows and modifiers, it was a mess but somehow it worked.
