I was dead set against drywall stilts until last month

Neighbor Jake loaned me his pair to finish my garage ceiling last Saturday. I figured I'd be falling off and breaking my ankle inside 10 minutes. Honestly after about an hour on them I couldn't believe how much faster I was moving compared to scaffolding. Has anyone else had a tool they swore they'd never use then tried it and changed their mind?

Nah, I still won't touch them. One of my buddies broke his wrist bad after tipping over on a pair when he leaned too far to one side. Renting scaffolding takes a little longer but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

And that's EXACTLY why I won't even look at those things anymore. A buddy of mine had a similar thing happen but he was just standing there painting a ceiling and the legs buckled sideways. Broke his ankle so bad he needed surgery and still limps sometimes. People swear they're "stable" but the second you put weight on one side it's game over. Scaffolding might take an extra hour to set up but at least you're not messing around with your body like that.
