Pro tip: You don't need a $2000 laptop to work from a beach

I used to think I needed the most expensive gear, but my $600 Chromebook handled everything in Playa del Carmen for 6 months. People get so caught up in specs they forget the work is in the browser. What's the cheapest setup that actually worked for you somewhere?

My buddy ran his whole freelance gig from a $300 tablet in Bali, just needed a cheap Bluetooth keyboard. Worked fine for emails and docs.

But what about bigger tasks like video calls or design work... did he ever hit a wall with the tablet's limits? Seems like that setup would struggle with anything beyond basic office stuff.

Sean_cooper58's friend is right, you can push tablets way further than people think.
