My sister told me my house looked like a storage unit, and she was right
My sister came over in March and stood in my hallway for a second, then asked if I was moving or just hoarding. I laughed it off, but she counted 9 black trash bags of stuff I had not opened in 2 years sitting in my spare room. She said if I had not touched it since I moved in, I did not need it, and that one line got under my skin. So I did the box test: anything I could not name without opening it went straight to the curb, no peeking. The first pass took 4 hours and I filled my whole car trunk with old cables, boots, and kitchen gadgets. What surprised me is how fast the room stopped feeling like a chore and started feeling like a room again. I still have 3 bins to go and I have been stuck on the same one for a week. What is your rule for the stuff you might need someday?
