Vinegar is the real hero here. Tried the baking soda and vinegar thing once and it just made a mess. Soaking with straight vinegar for a full 10-15 minutes makes a huge difference. Did a whole batch of pasta sauce jars last weekend and they came out spotless. Razor blade at a low angle is key too. If you push too hard you just gouge the glass. Goo Gone is a good shortcut for tough ones.

The trick with white vinegar and baking soda works, but it's actually the vinegar doing most of the work, not the bubbling reaction. You just soak a rag in vinegar and let it sit on the sticker for 10 minutes (not 5, that's too short). The acid breaks down the adhesive, then you scrape with a razor blade. Goo Gone works faster if you have it, but vinegar is cheaper for sure.

Whoa, hold on. @lindag33, you're saying the bubbling reaction doesn't do the heavy lifting? So all these years I've been wrong about the baking soda and vinegar volcano trick for stickers? I mean, I get that the acid breaks down the adhesive, but doesn't the fizzing help loosen it up mechanically too? Or is that just what we tell ourselves to feel like we're doing more than just waiting? I've honestly never timed it past five minutes because I get impatient and start scraping. Did you ever try just letting the vinegar sit for way longer like an hour and see if it just peels off without a razor?
