Just realized my ladder inspection habit was backwards

I used to check the rungs and feet first, then glance at the rails last. Then a buddy sent me a video of a cracked rail folding on a job site, and it hit me that the rails take all the bending stress. Now I trace both rails from top to bottom before anything else, and I've already found hairline cracks on two of my older ladders in the last month. One was a 24-foot extension I'd have climbed without a second thought. Anyone else have a safety check order they changed after seeing something go wrong?
