The Nashville co-working space that made me question everything about our network

Dropped into this new creative hub off Music Row last Tuesday for a coffee meeting and noticed something weird. Every single freelancer there had their own niche, like one person only does album cover typography and another only does tour poster illustrations. Back home in my city, everyone calls themselves a 'full service designer' and we all end up fighting for the same scraps. This group actually refers clients to each other because nobody's stepping on toes. Has anyone else seen a local network built on narrow specialties instead of generalists?
