Just realized my shampoo bars are the problem after a salon visit in Austin

Went to a new stylist last Thursday and she asked what I use, then told me my hard water here was reacting with the bars and leaving buildup. Has anyone else had to switch away from solid shampoo after moving to a place with different water?
