Had a client in Dallas ask for a '90s blowout with a modern twist, and it turned into a whole thing

She brought in a picture of her mom from 1995, and we spent like an hour just talking about the right products to get that volume without the crunch. Ended up using a heat protectant spray I hadn't touched in ages and a round brush from my old kit. The look came out perfect, but it made me realize how much those old styles are coming back. Anyone else getting a lot of requests for throwback hair lately?

Totally seeing this too. The 90s blowout is back for sure. It's all about the volume without the sticky hairspray feel now.

Honestly it's wild how much stuff from back then is just normal now. I saw a kid in baggy jeans and a tiny backpack the other day and it was pure 1998. Feels like we're all just recycling the past but with better materials, like your hairspray example. Makes you wonder what we're doing now that'll seem crazy in 20 years.

Guess we learned our lesson from helmet hair.
