Is the 3 uploads a week rule actually killing quality or am I just slow?
So I've been posting videos for about 8 months now, started with 2 uploads a week and got decent traction. Then I read all these guru takes saying you need 3 to 4 uploads minimum to grow on YouTube. I tried that for 6 weeks straight and my retention tanked, comment quality dropped, and I almost burned out editing till midnight every Tuesday and Thursday. The week I went back to 2 uploads, my views per video went up like 40%.
But part of me thinks maybe I just wasn't organized enough, or the algorithm punishes slower schedules long term. My buddy in Portland swears by daily shorts and only 1 long form per week, and he's at 20k subs. Whats the actual sweet spot for a solo creator with a full time job? Has anyone else tested dropping frequency and seen better numbers, or am I leaving growth on the table?
