My uncle kept telling me to check the flight logs for a specific date in 2012.
He was sure about a weird pattern near Denver. I finally looked it up last month and the data was totally normal, which shut down that whole talk for good. Anyone else have a family member who was certain about a specific piece of 'evidence' that turned out to be nothing?

But hold on, the thing about flight logs is they can be cleaned up or altered after the fact. A normal reading now doesn't prove nothing weird happened back then. I've seen cases where the raw data from the day tells a different story than the official record you pull up years later. Your uncle might have been onto something that got smoothed over.

Ever hear about my buddy who used to work air traffic control? He swears one night they tracked something moving way too fast and changing direction in ways nothing should, but the next morning the system logs for that whole hour were just gone, like wiped clean. The official report said it was a glitch with a weather balloon, but he saw the raw screen data himself. Makes you wonder how often the weird stuff just gets written over with a normal story later.

Yeah, the raw data telling a different story is the key part... that's why you always take a screenshot, not just note the time.
