Warning: pump line blew on a 9th floor pour in Seattle
We were running a 60 meter boom pump on a high rise last month and the line coupling let go mid pour, sprayed slurry all over the rebar and a guy's truck below. The foreman just said "clean it up fast" but the concrete had already started skinning on the rebars, and we had to jackhammer out 4 cubic yards. Have any of you dealt with a sudden line failure mid-pour and how do you pre-check those couplings now?
