Question about sealers on stamped patios in humid climates

Last month I finished a stamped patio in Houston and used a water-based sealer like I always do. Two weeks later the homeowner called saying it looked blotchy and hazy in spots. Turns out the humidity was so high the sealer didn't cure right, even though I waited the full 24 hours. Has anyone else had this problem with water-based sealers in the South, or should I switch to solvent-based for summer jobs?
