TIL swapping thermal paste with a grease gun syringe beat my tube method in Dallas
Honestly, my old syringe always made a mess, but after 3 tries with a $15 grease gun tip, my CPU temps dropped 8C and I haven't looked back, anyone else switched applicators for stubborn sockets?

Spent way too long fighting with a tube on my AM4 socket last year. Grabbed one of those cheap needle tip grease guns off Amazon and it was night and day. The plunger style just gives you way more control, no more smearing paste all over the edges of the heat spreader. My old tube method was hitting like 72C under load, now I sit around 63C with the same cooler and paste. Still got the tube in my drawer for emergencies, but honestly I reach for the gun every single time now.
