Unpopular opinion: single issue floppies beat collected editions for me

I've been buying trades for years because everyone says they're the better way to read. But last month I dug out a long box from 2015 and reread a run issue by issue. The gaps between issues made each story beat hit harder. With a collected edition, I just blow through the whole arc in one sitting and forget it by Tuesday. Single issues cost more per page, sure, around $4 versus $15 for a trade, but the pacing and the ads actually add something. Anyone else feel like the monthly wait makes the story stick better?
