Wasted $80 on a fancy coffee subscription that was just stale beans in nice bags

I signed up for Artisan Coffee Club after seeing ads everywhere and the first batch tasted like cardboard no matter how I brewed it. Anyone else get burned by those monthly subscription services that promise fresh roast but ship crap?

Did you try grinding the fancy bags and smoking the dust? Might've gotten more use out of it than actually brewing it. I once paid $50 for a "small batch" subscription and got beans that looked like they'd been sitting in someone's garage since last winter. Now I just grab whatever bag is on sale at the grocery store and pretend I'm a connoisseur.

Of course the bags were the nice part. They knew the beans needed all the help they could get.

Honestly that sucks so much. I got burned by a similar subscription and it's such a waste of money when you're excited for good coffee.
