Pro tip: I used to think a coffee pot was just for making coffee
About five years back, my morning routine was just a drip machine and whatever pre-ground stuff was on sale. I'd use the same pot to brew and then just leave it on the burner for hours. The change came after a trip to Portland where a barista told me, 'You're just cooking the flavor out.' I bought a simple pour-over cone and a cheap gooseneck kettle for about thirty bucks total. Now I grind fresh beans each morning and pour the water myself, which takes maybe three extra minutes. The taste is so much cleaner, and I don't end up with that bitter, burnt taste anymore. Has anyone else made a small switch like that which totally improved their daily cup?

Switched to a French press and never looked back.

Pour-over was a game changer for me too! That burnt taste is completely gone now.
