I used to think dark roast was the only real coffee until a cold brew changed my mind

For like 10 years I only drank dark roast from Starbucks because I thought light roasts were too weak. Then my buddy at a shop in Portland made me try their single origin Ethiopian natural process cold brew. It had blueberry notes and zero bitterness, totally flipped my opinion. Am I the only one who slept on light roasts for way too long?

Wait, you're telling me I wasn't the only one who thought dark roast was the real deal for years? I totally get that feeling. I was the same way until a friend made me try a light roast from a local shop and it was like a whole new world opened up. It's wild how we think we know what coffee is supposed to taste like then something simple flips that. The blueberry notes you mentioned sound amazing, I love when coffee has that natural sweetness. It's like we missed out on years of good coffee for no good reason.

Hard disagree, dark roasts still hit way better for me.

Oh man, that light roast thing hit me the same way. I was all about dark roasts for like five years thinking that's what coffee was supposed to be - bold and bitter. Then someone handed me a light roast Ethiopian and I legit tasted lemon and jasmine, like what even is that? Felt like I'd been drinking burnt water my whole life and missing out on all the good stuff. Now I can't even go back to dark roasts, they taste like charcoal to me.
