Hit my 1,000th pour-over this morning and had to sit down

I've been counting every single pour-over since I started last January, and this morning I hit exactly 1,000. That's like three years worth of coffee in about six months if you ask my wife. Anybody else track random coffee milestones or am I just weird?

You've had more pour-overs than I've had hot dinners, and I eat a lot of dinners.

Best advice I can give? Pick one bean and stick with it for a while. Your grinder settings and water temp will thank you (and so will your wallet).

My 847th pour over was the one that finally convinced me I'd been overcomplicating the whole thing for years. Before that I was a "buy whatever's on sale and hope for the best" person who thought the ritual was mostly just showing off. Now I get why people actually count these things, even if I still think it's a little weird.
